In Australia this is true -under reporting / testing for #combustible #cladding is remains rife. Builders not being held accountable for repairs. #Strata owners ignoring occupiers liability risk. Regulators under resourced to enforce compliance.

This man is a liar. Remember, he told desperate leaseholders caveat emptor, in Parliament, when challenged whether he was going far enough to remove flammable material from buildings whilst protecting innocent leaseholders at the same time. hansard.parliament.uk/commons/2021-0…

Wonder how many times a GP in the UK has listened to a patient suffering from stress and nervous breakdowns from being a leaseholder. I imagine the brain of a leaseholder is similar to those under constant stress on the battlefield. The stakes feel that high. #brokenbritain

But we didn't bother. In fact, the government only said it would finally make these changes *last Monday*. There is pretty direct evidence that its failure to do so in Blair's time was to appease product manufacturers.

And then in 2001 the UK govt paid for fire tests on cladding systems, which included the one later used on Grenfell. It was a catastrophic failure, and the report warned that existing standards could mean it was used on UK buildings. The govt did nothing.

And with a place in the board of the largest housing association in the U.K.
