The London Mayor should be apolitical!
Then we wouldn’t have the bullshit going on of voting down party lines or punishing either party with the vote.
We need serious people with business experience to run huge organisations without party allegiance.

If one wants to learn the effectiveness of LTNs look at hospital admissions for respiratory illnesses near/on boundary rds where traffic has been diverted. Are there less cars due to LTNs? No! look at red routes where the less affluent are. Where do majority of asthmatics reside?

Late last year, several 𝕏 employees were threatened by a guy with a machete outside the Walgreens on Market St in SF.

They didn’t report it, because that doesn’t constitute an arrestable crime in California.

That guy later killed 3 people.

This right here is the problem, the haves and have nots.

When the imagined evaporation doesn't happen, the LTN really is a zero sum policy. Concentrating more traffic, congestion and pollution on those who already had most.

SHR traffic now moves and clears quickly. The buses get through & no longer terminate early. No cars driving on wrong side or motorbikes on pavement. Kids home swiftly, not 2 hours. I just cycled thru Wells - all perfectly fine. Valley Rd needs traffic calming, not an LTN
