A nice pair of Bullfinches feeding in a hedge on Longrun Meadow this morning. Managed some nice pics of the male but the female was too shy.

A pair of flighty great spotted woodpeckers Longrun Meadow this morning. Single singing willow warbler & blackcap, a handful of vocal chiffchaff, and a Cetti’s warbler pumping up the volume from across the river.

Insects to the fore in the sun Longrun Meadow today. Birds seen included 2 late redpoll, willow warblers, treecreeper, yaffle & a solitary low-flying swallow.

It really does seem to be a bumper cuckoo flower year. A huge patch on the north side of the willow cathedral is coming into flower now. #WildflowerHour
