An uplifting day of celebration for Nowruz, Iranian New Year, at LauderdaleHouse today. Beautiful Persian art, music, talks, food, and a whole lot of fun from the irrepressible Mehrdad Aref-Adib who has done a brilliant job of putting it all together.

Stark snowy beauty & good cheer on my first visit to Iceland - giving a talk to an adventure motorcycle group in Reykjavik. Have returned envious of the egalitarian 'first-names only' culture, and their cheap electricity. But not sure I could do without trees.
