When students are spoonfed and taught to the test, learning becomes a chore - they learn that learning is a “job” rather than a process of infinite possibility and excitement.

These figures are shocking. Yes we need to increase access to mental health support, but we also need to ask what is leading children to this state in the first place? Fundamental changes are necessary and schools need to play their part in being proactive, not just reactive.

Too many children are being denied early help and are allowed to disappear from education.
