So proud of this beautiful play and everything we’ve achieved with the team Theatre by the Lake. At its heart an important truth and, hopefully, will make the future a little easier for the Jordans of tomorrow in Cumbria. ❤️🏳️🌈
STEEL at Theatre by the Lake is beyond sensational lee_mattinson masterfully makes place a character - all its delicious corners, flaws, dichotomies, neglect, shadow, hope, rage. this is the land i know. never has my cumbrian queer heart ever echoed in a piece of work like this. thank you
First ever trip to Cumbria wouldn’t be complete without seeing Theatre by the Lake, a venue on my list to visit for a longtime. Fortunate to time it with seeing a performance of Steel by lee_mattinson - a show that resonated so much with this working class soul. Needs to tour in South.
Steel Carnegie Arts Centre Theatre by the Lake this weekend was amazing. Full houses for the Steel choir who performed live as a fitting finale to the show and to the community tour of this special production. So grateful to the entire team and everyone who was a part of it.
Brassed Off has been nominated for a WhatsOnStage Award for 'Best Regional Production'! Very proud of everyone who made this show - cast, creatives, stage management, community performers and our staff teams at Theatre by the Lake Stephen Joseph Theatre Octagon Theatre PLEASE VOTE FOR US BEFORE 9 JAN!
