Very busy day getting ~35,000 kg of peatland restoration material into our metal contaminated peatland in the Laurentian University - Université Laurentienne Greenspace. We are testing 3 different treatments to figure out what works! #PeatTwitter cbc.ca/news/canada/su…

Dr. John Gunn gave an amazing overview and tour of Laurentian University - Université Laurentienne greenspace, lakes on campus, their nuanced environmental histories, and the exciting experimental peatland area (Colin McCarter)! This space is critical to watershed health in Sudbury and environmental research broadly.

Just the life of a new PI trying to get equipment for her lab 😂. Very grateful for loaned and gifted research supplies from labs in my department @LUNatScience and for my friends/colleagues helping hands and support 💗🙏👩‍🔬

Yesterday, the Polish Limnology Meeting started with a great plenary by John Smol on 'Lakes in the Anthropocene'. He already experienced millennia old high artic lakes to no longer exist. Canary in the coal mine lakes disappearing during his research. More great talks followed👍

Beauty day on the water ☀️😎. This sediment core is for a #paleolimnology component of our soon-to-be #Postdocs research Living with Lakes. If you haven't already applied there's still time! But not much... Scroll down on my profile for the application process.

If you have a chance to hear Mike Waddington speak, GO! I'm still pondering his "Dont Burn Up" Living with Lakes lecture from last week about 🔥 in peatlands. Implications for global climate & data that help us mitigate carbon loss from these environments. youtube.com/watch?v=fw0Thh…

Last #fieldwork of the season at some legendary #lakes. These 2 small lakes in Northern Ontario are the only water bodies where Aurora #trout (Salvelinus fontinalis timagamiensis) originated.

At the Vale Living with Lakes Centre, we do more than just research! We visited Dr. Liz Favot’s (Dr. Liz Favot) third year undergraduate Aquatic Ecology course. In this video, you’ll see Dr. Favot teaching a lab introduction, microscope setup, and see our students use microscopes
