Even our neighboring Lt. Governor noted what happened in SD this week regarding school lunches. Rep. Kadyn Wittman proposed a “right-sized” solution to the school lunch issue for South Dakota kids. I am disappointed that our lawmakers have chosen to support it.

Here’s another great bill to watch! Sen Nesiba’s SB 132 will raise the minimum wage to 15$ over 3 years. This is an overlapping issue on all of our biggest current crises: housing, workforce and childcare.

Twice I have ran for office as a mom, and was disappointed that I couldn’t use campaign funds for childcare. For moms in politics, even a few hours a week can help us take on the huge commitment of running for office and hopefully serving.
