As a parent I want to thank Coach Llewellyn and Coach Clemons for giving Ruthie an opportunity to play early and investing in her along the way. Gregory Harrison and all those on the team for giving an 8th grader a chance to play on his Alabama Blazers team.

Mike Chase, Chris Krueger, Beverly Kirk and All Alabama 2022 family for an amazing time at the highest level on the national stage. Lastly, Emma Wallen Balentine for challenging a 6th grader to compete at the varsity level. So many more parents that became family.

Lauderdale County High School senior Ruthie Smith will be continuing her basketball and academic careers at Faulkner University. She is a four-time All-State selection; scored over 2,000 points and had over 1,000 rebounds during her high school career; and is class valedictorian.
