A walk close to Little Cottage today from Boundway in Tiptoe: the local 'lonely oak' is enjoying spring; a panorama - a brilliant yellow gorse year; the Avon Water level is remarkably low at the moment; and the highland cows were in the area.

Amazing flora today close to Little Cottage, including: lady's smock, marsh marigold, wood violet, speedwell & first leaves of heath spotted orchid. Here photos of early carnivorous sundew, wild garlic (follow your nose), gorse (a good year) and bugle.

A few snaps from a walk local to Little Cottage in mixed cloud & sun. A mare & foal (no New Forest photoshoot is complete without), one of the first heath spotted orchid flowers in the local patch, bird's-foot-trefoil flowers, & gorse overlooking Elkham's Grave & the copse oak.
