This morning, the PM will turn up for a photo shoot at a beer festival. The same day he's increased wine 20%, cans of beer 10%, sherry 44%, vodka 10%, beer 4%. Our pints are now taxed 11 times higher than in Germany. Hardly a photo opp day....

Hospitality's tax burden has increased from 30% of turnover to 38% in last 5 years - particularly rates, payroll taxes and VAT, all pre profit taxes - we need to bear down on costs of doing business to get growth, investment and regeneration going again

UK Hospitality is taxed 11 times more for a pint of beer, than Germany. We need to reduce VAT, in line with other European countries. It would save many businesses and jobs. I’ll be asking for this at my events during the forthcoming party conferences.
