"Death by Study" Bonds and Felder both do NOT want to see RCV be fully implemented in DC. This is a common tactic to kill a program, by passing amendments to require more education that actually just delays implementation and at worst kills it altogether. REJECT THIS AMENDMENT.

When I remember all the Monica Lewinsky jokes I heard as a kid, the person telling them is Jay Leno. This is just like all those people who didn't think South Park was political until it made fun of Trump. It's only "political" when they disagree with it.

Janeese Lewis George, Charles Allen, Brooke Pinto, Councilmember Matt Frumin, Zachary Parker, and Robert White: please vote today *against* the amendments filed by CMs Bonds & Felder to B26-260 & B26-265 which would indefinitely delay the implementation of ranked-choice voting in DC elections!

An effort to delay ranked choice voting to death was just voted down by the Council, so we can officially say DC is moving to RCV starting in 2026! Unfortunately, the Council also voted not to fund, for 2026, the provision of I-83 allowing independents to vote in primaries

Ashley Chapin (@aachapin8528) 's Twitter Profile Photo

DC voters also overwhelmingly approved I-83, which includes opening our primaries to independents. Explain to me why I-82's mandate means more than one that influences your own elections? Seems self serving to conveniently abstain on that one today ...

DC Dems accuse the MAJORITY of Democratic Voters who supported semi-open primaries guilty of a "betrayal" which sounds pretty MAGA to me. This mindset is what has squandered trust that Democrats have in the party as it is now polling at record lows.

Congratulations to all the Democratic candidates who won tonight. It’s a reminder that when we come together around strong, forward-looking leaders who care about the issues that matter, we can win. We’ve still got plenty of work to do, but the future looks a little bit brighter.

This all-male panel is deciding whether South Carolina women can be charged with murder for their pregnancies — and whether birth control and pro-choice websites stay legal. This a real thing happening today. Don't look away.
