There are winds of 60-70mph moving into NE Harris County. We’ll see gusty winds across the entire county but likely the heaviest winds will be in NE Harris then moving into Liberty County. Stay tuned to the news. Our Emergency Management team continues to monitor the weather.

On Memorial Day, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. Their courage and dedication protect our freedoms and inspire us to strive for a more just and peaceful world.

It’s been 4 years since George Floyd was brutally murdered on the streets of Minneapolis. On this solemn anniversary, we remember his life and reaffirm our commitment to fighting systemic racism. We honor his legacy by continuing to demand justice, equality, and true reform.

Amongst the devastation of the recent weather events we pause and remember the tragic shooting that took place in Uvalde, 2 years ago today. In the wake, we mourn the losses and grieve with the victims’ families. We mustn’t forget the need for sensible gun laws in our nation.

As of 9:30 am, $1.9M in federal funds from FEMA has been disbursed to impacted Harris County residents. I know a lot are still struggling with the impacts of the storm & the funds can’t come soon enough. We are working with FEMA to make the delivery as fast as possible.

Although our region is receiving federal resources for affected residents, there are still unmet needs. Please consider volunteering or contributing to our nonprofit fund.
