I'm still sort of shocked that the Globe and Mail (among others) basically lied to everyone about what the first Hogue report said yesterday.

There is no democracy without the press, but what do we do when they're part of the problem?

And here we are almost a year later. What did Fred DeLorey say on yesterday about the Hogue report? '...I thought I read it last year when David Johnston put it out...' He was being a bit tongue in cheek, but has been consistent about this and where to go from here.

This is outrageous given Meta’s introduction of its default limit on political content for all users and the lengths anyone has to go to to advertise anything related to what is considered social issues. apnews.com/article/5326da…

'Planned or improvised, Poilievre’s willingness to degrade the debate in chamber surely paid off financially for his party.

But it did not for Canadian democracy'

This is the real issue of foreign interference in 🇨🇦

A foreign government may have helped kill someone on 🇨🇦 soil

And at the time some media like Bill Carroll 580 CFRA questioned the integrity of the Prime Minister for going public with the intelligence he had

Andrew making a huge point here. Someone with a massive lead in the polls is saying ‘when I win I will decide if and when the Charter of Rights still applies’ This is the Trump playbook.

Listening to this interview with two former CSIS directors makes you feel like a lot of what we've heard re foreign interference is generally overblown, even if there is work to do to ensure electoral safety going forward.

'So ultimately what you have is a whole lot of stuff, I guess mostly in the Globe & Mail, which turns out not to be true, which has spun the whole issue considerably further than the actual information appears to support.'

Here is the segment with R. Fadden & W. Elcock commenting on the Nijjar case and the Hogue findings. At about 12:14min. Elcock comments on the G&M reporting 'which turns out not to be true', but doesn't negate FI, simply suggests the report isn't damning.
