Questions submitted by Liam Quaide TD to the HSE about waiting lists for psychology services have gone unanswered for ten weeks. They won’t say how long people are waiting. Only that wait times can exceed 52 weeks. This is Orwellian. Why won’t they provide a straight answer?

"Beyond the battering ram..." A new frontier with the HSE. Unfortunately, if the St. Stephen's Hospital mental health service proposal moves to planning phase it will go ahead. This centralised service will mean people with severe mental illness being cut off from society.

Some very good news from Bernard Gloster at the Disability Matters Committee. He has approved 45 additional trainee psychologist posts for this September. Crucially, they *will not* be counted under Pay & Numbers Strategy - i.e., they will not impact on other psychology posts.

Government has not been supporting GPs sufficiently. Many newly trained GPs will emigrate. Bringing in a salaried GP model would allow GPs in Ireland to have a better work life balance. We need at least 940 GPs over the coming 15 years in order to meet the demand that exists.
