It was lovely to meet all the leaders at the mosque, to learn more about #Ramadan and to hear about the great inter-faith work they do with St Peter’s Church.

It was lovely to speak to residents today. Your councillors have picked up some casework to pass onto Highways, and of course, lots of support for Labour!

🇬🇧🇵🇰 Today’s Pakistan National Day and I attended the flag raising ceremony at the Consulate in Manchester.

I spoke about the beauty of Pakistan & Kashmir, the deep friendship between the UK & Pakistan and the huge contribution that the UK Pakistani community play in our city.

🌹 Really great to kickstart my campaign for the next General Election in the new Gorton and Denton seat this afternoon.

Door knocking in Longsight Ward found lots of support for Cllr Luthfur Rahman OBE and Andy Burnham on May 2nd and for a The Labour Party Government when the time comes!

Following the horrific dumping of rubbish in the alleyway between Stovell Avenue and Damien Street, the area has been cleaned.

Recognising the urgency to stop this recurring, we met with senior Manchester City Council staff today to discuss preventative measures.

With more nations reinstating funding to UNWRA, it is encouraging to hear the Govt has confirmed that UK funding has resumed but this must be extended beyond April immediately.

In June 2023, I asked Huw Merriman MP when decisions on Access for All funding for Levenshulme station would be made. The Minister said 'later in 2023'.

But 2023 has been and gone, but no decision. Now he says it will be in 'due course'.

Why the delay?

Much warmer morning campaigning in Levenshulme, and a warm response from residents for our Levenshulme Councillors. What's clear from speaking to people is that everyone wants a change of government and wants it as soon as possible! Levenshulme Labour #LabourDoorstep
