Ronan is milking 115 cows through two robots currently averaging 21kg and 2.2 milkings. Previously milking in a herringbone parlour 🌱 Land would be soft and grazing would be a struggle. Open day on Tuesday 27th August. All welcome ! #lely #innovation #farm24 #farm365

We had a great day at Glen South Farm on Friday for the Lely Vector Open Day to celebrate 10 years of the Vector in Ireland. There were plenty of interesting discussions around nutrition and farm automation. Lely Center Mitchelstown

Outside of service €7k has been spent on maintenance of the system over the last 10 years. Big savings/year on diesel and labour. Power for the year to run the Vector is €3,500. Feeding accuracy is 98% - the best farmers with a diet feeder only getting 80-90% feed accuracy.

Thanks to the Gavin Family for hosting an excellent open day in Galway yesterday. Replaced 20 unit parlour with 3 robots. Great example of how robotic milking allows better grass utilisation! Last meeting of this series in Tipperary next week ! lely.com/ie/changing-fr…

Milking was taking the best part of 6 hours/day before installing robots, big reduction now even though the herd has increased from 110 to 130 cows. We will be looking at service/running costs along with the performance of the herd over the last few years. All welcome!
