Repealing the SD consumables tax this fall, while appealing, may force South Dakota to consider new taxation streams to deliver core services to our residents. A state income tax could be on the table. Voter education will be key on this issue if it makes the ballot.

As one of the few states without a state income tax, it's been a tremendous competitive advantage for business/workforce recruitment here in SD.

I've had varying opinions on this over the years, but our sub-8% municipal election turnout a few weeks back is tough to ignore. Sioux Falls residents, do you think we should move our municipal elections to coincide with primary or general election dates? 🗳️

When Governor Kristi Noem put out a release that her second book was coming, a buddy called to say “she will now be the first person to have “written” more books than she’s read! Ok, that’s funny…and got even funnier

Gov. Noem is out of state today for a political conference in Washington. Tomorrow, she has a television interview on Meet the Press. Last month, Noem cut her book tour short because of “bad weather” in South Dakota when Lead was getting a little snow.
