Happy #Juneteenth, a day celebrating the emancipation from slavery. To celebrate, transcribe a letter from Boston Public Library's collection of anti-slavery activists' handwritten correspondence via antislaverymanuscripts.org. We are pleased to have funded the digitization of these letters.

Took one last selfie in my office before handing over the key to Jorge Vega. The sad part: my fellowship is coming to an end. The happy part: Jorge is going to kick ass as the new Writer-in-Residence!

That moment when an item on your to-do list has been migrated to the next day for so long that you finally look at it anew and think, what even is "watch those Russia videos"?

I'm one of those people who avoids complaining about how cold it is all winter just so I can complain about the heat on days like today. I'm dying and I hate summer. Feel free to block me now.

Grabbed the nearest book to smoosh a spider and realized only afterward that it was "Darwin's Backyard." Noice.

A 10-page paper is all that stands between me and a Master's degree. This might be the last paper I write in my entire life. What a surreal feeling. (Also a great one.)

Just got this gorgeous Norfolk Pine for TWENTY DOLLARS on Craigslist. Who need kids or pets when you can have plants instead?!

After an exhausting weekend of ripping out ivy to redo our garden patio, partner and I finally collapsed on the couch with beers in hand only for him to jump right back up and start nonchalantly making apple crisp. Love that guy.
