Amazon is now offering chat medical visits (not even video) with physicians and NPs for $35 cash if you think you have COVID. Or a yeast infection. Or need birth control. How is this even considered healthcare? And why is it less expensive than my copay for my $700/mo BCBS PPO?

#COP28 #ClimateChange is about consumption of very richest people in our global society. 50% of global emissions are emitted by just 10% of the population. 90% of global emissions by 50% of the population. We need climate justice to save our planet. The rich need to step up

Why is Nanodrop so bad at giving the right concentration of our miniprepped plasmids? Look at the gel and table. We Qiaprepped 13 plasmids from NEB Turbo cells, read the conc. on 2 different Nanodrops and a Qubit and then did test digest and gel. Only Qubit matches the gel data🤷‍♀️

A reminder of the trajectory of Nobel Laureate Katalin Kariko. Passed over for a tenured position, grants rejected, ideas shunned and overlooked. She was just too far ahead of the curve and not savvy at playing the traditional scientific game. Now look! washingtonpost.com/health/2021/10…

Today's Nobel is a reminder to focus on the work and not the journal. The key publications cited by the committee were published in Immunity, Molecular Therapy, and Nucleic Acids Research. Respectable journals, but not the Big 3. The discoveries are what's important, not a name.

“Ten years ago I was kicked out and forced to retire.” Our new medicine laureate Katalin Karikó (Katalin Kariko) told us how much it means to be awarded the Nobel Prize after a scientific career that has been full of challenges. Ten years ago, Karikó was still doing all her

Spare a thought for UPenn’s public relations team today trying to work out what to say about the Medicine Nobel Prize going to one of their Profs and another Prof they kicked out for not doing faculty-level research.

Hmmm.. do today's winners of the Nobel prize know something, perhaps about something floating in the air, that most of our leaders don't? I wonder what it could be...

Let this sink in—2 people from UPENN won the #NobelPrize, but while the male researcher was elevated to a full Professor, the female researcher is Adjunct professor & told she was “not of faculty quality”. Penn & Penn Medicine has never apologized publicly to Katalin Kariko. Sexist?
