My lab is hosting a happy hour together with Zenobi-Wong and Schwank labs. The theme is airports. What you see here is a homebrew, working metal detector with alarm that attendees pass through upon exiting the elevator. Welcome to ETH Zurich, where even the biologists are techies.

TnpB is much smaller than the well-known CRISPR-Cas "gene scissors". The tool for targeted modification of the genome has now been improved to such an extent that it could one day be used to treat a genetic defect that leads to a lifelong high cholesterol level.
