For #ArchiveTravel we have this travel wallet belonging to Sir Ronald Ross, who proved that malaria was transmitted by mosquitoes in 1897.
The wallet contains tickets and maps from various research and delegate trips. 🎫🗺️

Where would we be without conservators? For starters we wouldn’t have these wonderful custom-made storage boxes to keep Sir Patrick Manson’s mosquito box and Sir Ronald Ross’s set of malarial blood slides safe! #ConservationWin #Archive30

Our #SomethingBig and very heavy is this MADAS calculator.
MADAS is derived from the initial letters of Multiplication, Automatic Division, Addition, & Subtraction. This one was used by Professor Jenny Roberts and we believe dates from 1950s-60s.

In 1916 the Shakespeare Hut opened on the grounds of what is now LSHTM’s Keppel Street site. It was a YMCA hut created as a 'home away from home' for Anzac soldiers to rest, recover and be entertained when they were on leave during WWI.

Bill Gates visited the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine in October 2016 to meet with researchers and peruse some archival items. His Diet Coke can, whilst not officially accessioned into our Archive, has been in our office ever since.

We've recently catalogued material from the LSHTM Contemporary Arts Programme between 2000-2005. Its aim was to commission works that fit with the themes of the School & the architecture of the building. Learn more here: bit.ly/3SMs37H

Our most #ColourfulArchives are definitely our HIV/AIDS collections. Many countries used eye catching colours on badges and posters when raising awareness of preventative measures which should be taken.

For the first day of ARA Scotland #Archive30 , the theme is #YourArchive . We love showcasing our collections and sharing the history of public health with people. Here are some photos of recent sessions we've held in our library.
