Tough round for Louisburg as it lost 5 of its 6 first round matches. However, junior Ashton Moore won his first round match by pin over Fort Scott's Ryder Newton and will wrestle in the quarterfinal round coming up. The others will wrestle in the first round of consolation later.

Junior Ashton Moore is onto the semifinals as he pinned Mulvane's Noah West in the third round and has guaranteed himself a state medal at 190 pounds. He will face off against Baldwin's Jack Harvey -- a defending state champion -- tomorrow morning. Congrats Ashton!

It was a tough consolation round for the other five Louisburg wrestlers. Canaan Clayton (113), Will Showalter (120), Logan Henry (132), Traden Noll (150) and Jay McCaskill (157) all saw their tournaments come to an end with losses. Congrats on a great season guys!

FRIDAY STATE WRESTLING UPDATE: Louisburg junior Ashton Moore lost his semifinal match by a 9-1 major decision to the defending state champion, Baldwin's Jack Harvey. Moore will continue tomorrow and will wrestle for either third or fifth place.

SATURDAY STATE WRESTLING UPDATE: Louisburg junior Ashton Moore knocks off the No. 3 wrestler in 4A, Tonganoxie’s Colton Brusven, by a 5-2 decision in the consolation semifinals. Moore will now wrestle for third later today.

Louisburg junior Ashton Moore earned a fourth place state medal today at 190 pounds. Moore lost a tough 5-4 decision to Andale’s Isaiah Wilson in the third place match. Moore finished his season with a 38-9 record. Congrats Ashton!
