A paper in nature reports a faithful organoid model of colorectal cancer initiation. These cell cultures could aid research into the complex processes associated with tumour growth and may facilitate the discovery of therapeutic approaches. go.nature.com/3w6UtRh

Tumorigenic transformation can be spatiotemporally controlled by directing oncogenic activation through blue-light exposure, and emergent colon tumors can be tracked in real-time with single-cell resolution for several weeks without breaking the culture.
