The way the system is now set up in LA and CA, there is very little room to be human with people when you deny a rental application. Hence the direct cold ass emails. The minute you try to be human and talk to people you get f#cked. Every interaction you have to think what

Spent the day in the Palisades today. Many streets still look bombed out and zero construction on them. And then there are others where half the block is in the framing stage. My prediction is within 5 years the Palisades will be 70% rebuilt. Just too nice of a place and too

We just pulled permits on an SB 9 duplex + 2 ADUs in under 3 months from submittal to LADBS. We submitted paper plans instead of doing e-plan. If the City can move this fast on 4 units, Palisades & Altadena rebuild permits should be fast tracked in under a month!

I respect a lot of what the YIMBYs have accomplished over the past few years.
But their ongoing inability to understand why developers and property owners don’t want Democratic Socialists running Los Angeles is concerning at this point.
DSA politics is crushing this city. The

SAJE is also anti market rate development and supports vacancy control. They opposed SB 79. Sounds quite NIMBY. So how is it that an LA council member like Nithya is giving them City money, while claiming to be pro development? Would love to hear from the YIMBY's on this.

Dave Rand For us running the apartment buildings, she is potentially worse then anyone else on the list. 1. Supported prop 33 and vacancy control. 2. Brought us under inflation increases. 3. Was only 1 of 3 council members that wanted to extend the rent freeze past 2024 and who knows

Our larger 3BR / 2BA units (especially on the Westside) are renting far better right now, than anything else we manage. Too bad we don’t manage very many of them!

“Non profit” PR is master class! These orgs make so much money for their execs, staff, contractors, lenders etc. Homeless and Housing “non profits” are the worse though, they have gone on a crusade to vilify private owners, developers and small businesses. How dare we profit

We’ve had some crazy rains in LA the past 3 months! And it’s gone about as well as you’d think on all the new modern no eave construction around the city :) Going forward if an architect doesn’t have this kind of eave in their portfolio I ain’t hiring :)

A majority of tenants just want someone to listen to them. When I hear some owners talking about all the evictions / lawsuits they have going on, and I ask if they’ve ever sat down with those tenants it’s usually met as if I said something crazy. It’s a tiny property

So let me get this straight. 1. They tax developments with ULA out of profitability. 2. And then use that tax money to fund organizations, which provide attorneys to tenants that don’t pay rent and squat our units. And we’re supposed to support Nithya Raman for mayor
