Sharing/making snow maps more than 2 days in advance of a complex winter storm is a LOSING strategy in forecasting. We're not there yet in the science to confidently predict specific snow amounts more than 48 hours in advance. What's better... being first or remaining credible?

Winter storms are NOT straightforward in Central PA & never have been. Our geography lends to having storms w/ mixed precip & is why forecasting snow around here is TOUGH. Forecasting snow is often far more straightforward in the Northern Plains where the climate is much colder.
