As part of the #CelebratingDaughters campaign, UNFPA Bangladesh, in association with Prothom Alo, highlighted heartwarming father-daughter stories at Gazipur Alekjan High School, with singer Priyanka Gope and her father, along with writer Anisul Haq.

This week, our Representative kristineblokhus and team, made an impactful mission to #BhasanChar (island) where 32,560 #Rohingya refugees reside.

Since 2022, UNFPA has led transformative interventions here, thanks to the unwavering support of our partners - Japan and KOICA.

Following a devastating fire in the Rohingya refugee camps last year, UNFPA and partners, with support from CERF - The UN's emergency fund, have rebuilt a multipurpose center, an integrated space for women and children, and a women-friendly space for the refugees and host communities in the Camps.

We had so much to discuss with the new State Minister for Women's Affairs. Delighted to begin work together to prevent child marriage and GBV, and on this year's major effort to collect new data on violence against women.

Our Representative @kristineBlokhus and her team met with the State Minister for Bangladesh @MOWCA, Ms. Simeen Hussain Rimi, reaffirming their commitment to reducing child marriage and gender-based violence in Bangladesh by emphasizing data-driven programmes.
