The Navy’s leaking Red Hill Fuel Facility continues to threaten O’ahu’s aquifer. This unprecedented crisis calls for unprecedented measures, which is why OWP demands the inclusion of community representatives on the Red Hill Joint Task Force.

As OWP we work closely with the Red Hill affected military families who still reside on Oʻahu. Our understanding is none of the families we organize with were asked to meet with Sec Def or even know who they sat down with. They voice their frustration here:

Over 90,000 Hawaii residents had their water poisoned by the U.S. Navy’s jet fuel. For years, protesters warned that the Navy’s jet fuel at Red Hill might leak into the water. And then it did.

The DOH released their survey of those impacted by Red Hill contaminated water today and the affects are horrifying. 80% of people are still reporting symptoms and 85% are still using a different source for their drinking water due to contamination!
