We had a blast in Sitges with 6 rockstar European Research Council (ERC) groups: Musacchio Lab Surrey Lab Kops Lab Nenad Pavin KamenzLab & Nedelec! Soaked up tons of fresh knowledge, brainstormed ideas, kicked off new joint activities. Plus, we dipped in the sea & enjoyed the lively bar scene!
Cannot believe how great my lab is: check out the surprise they had for me in honor of me taking over directorship of Hubrecht Institute institute on 1 Sep.
Super proud that our joint research proposal with Geert Kops (Kops Lab, Hubrecht Institute) and Beatriz Carvalho (Gerrit Meijer, The Netherlands Cancer Institute) was granted by KWFKankerbestrijding!
We will study the origin and impact of chromosome copy number alterations during early tumorigenesis. hubrecht.eu/dutch-cancer-s…
Last month has seen two #CellCycle -related #NRMCBReview |s 🥳
The first one is by Kops Lab
and Andrew McAinsh, who discuss the spindle assembly checkpoint: go.nature.com/3KPfXpo
Great insights into evolution of the microtubules-binding Dam1 and Ska complexes by Laura van rooijen. And a next chapter in our fun 10+year collaboration with Snel lab Utrecht University !
Want to know everything about how cells protect themselves from chromosome segregation errors during cell division? Check out our new review in Nature Reviews Molecular Cell Biology. Great fun writing this with Andrew McAinsh) Andrew McAinsh!

Just saw a lecture by Elisabeth Bik Elisabeth Bik who visited Hubrecht Institute to talk about integrity in scientific publishing. Goes beyond papers: involves also lab culture, good mentoring and proper raw data scrutinization. Great work!
Massive thanks to Fioranna Renda and Alexey Khodjakov for highlighting our recent work in Current Biology led by Jingchao & Ainhoa Larreategui in collaboration with Marta de Ruijter-Villani. Truly a great contextualisation of our results!
