Here is katie honan confronting Deputy Commissioner of Public Information with evidence that the chain he wielded to imply that “outside agitators” barricaded Hamilton Hall is a common bike lock that Columbia University itself sold to their students

Grateful to Columbia University Classics Prof Joseph A. Howley (Joseph A. Howley) on The Brian Lehrer Show and A Daily Politics Podcast for calmly, coolly, cogently dismantling the 'antisemitism' canard weaponized by Congressional R's and, sadly, The New York Times to sideline pro-Palestine opinion & Israel-slaughter protest. So impressive!

Check out this piece for a deep dive into the history of how NYC congestion pricing finally came to be a reality! Even tho it's such a no brainer, it took a protracted political fight.

As The Brian Lehrer Show and A Daily Politics Podcast tees up a segment on cancelled NY offshore wind projects -- its second this year -- bear in mind that a robust NY or US would undo a great deal of the cost pressures causing the cancellations, as I noted recently: carbontax.org/blog/2023/11/1…

Last night's assault left me with more than just a bruise. It's disheartening to witness the dangers faced by anyone who dares to speak out and expose our government's complicity in this genocide, like the ones our students in campuses face every day. But as painful as this…

People who bike for transportation should care about the distinction between e-bikes and vehicles fast and heavy enough to routinely cause serious injury more than the “regulate e-bike” crowd does. Bike lanes full of heavy, loud, fast NON-bicycles are dangerous for everyone.

Entire The New York Times column 'explaining' why Gaza protests roil 'American universities even as overseas campuses have stayed relatively calm' doesn't once mention the one man (POTUS) who could halt Israel's slaughter with a phone call: nytimes.com/2024/04/26/wor…

A reader wrote to me suggesting a connection between the Manhattan hush-money trial and Thursday’s immunity argument at the Supreme Court. In slow-walking the immunity case, the reader wrote, the justices are engaged in their own catch-and-kill operation.

Alumni of Columbia's graduate Climate School join in protest over calling the police on demonstrators, arguing that 'Columbia is fomenting the same rising fascism that obstructs multilateral climate negotiations.'

It is worth watching this CNN video from the moment Emory Econ Professor Caroline Fohlin came across the violent arrest of a protester on campus and asked the police, with shock, 'What are you doing?' That's all that prompted an officer to hurl her to the ground and handcuff her.

Universities are failing. They badly misunderstand crowd psychology.

'By aggressively treating crowds as if they are dangerous monoliths, the police...create identities bound together in opposition to the authorities'

Surprised that neither The Brian Lehrer Show and A Daily Politics Podcast nor Nicholas Kristof saw fit to mention Charles M. Blow's searing and pertinent column this week even as they discussed the disturbing 'ghost of the 1968 antiwar movement' just now: nytimes.com/2024/04/24/opi…

Mr. Netanyahu, antisemitism is a vile and disgusting form of bigotry that has done unspeakable harm to millions.

Do not insult the intelligence of the American people by attempting to distract us from the immoral and illegal war policies of your extremist and racist government.

The NYPD is posting evidence that they are a pack of lawless thugs that has no interest in the law, justice or transportation safety. There are a dozen cars on the sidewalk and the one behind the ticketing officer has no plates. They need to be under a federal receivership.
