The Knox County EPW Dept. will host two meetings – one for the Carter community and one for the Hardin Valley community – to seek public input and go over a proposed sidewalk plan to help alleviate congested school zones close to homes, businesses, parks and other schools.
The intersection of Emory Road and Tazewell Pike has long been a heavily trafficked area for the Gibbs’ community – just not foot traffic. The Knox County EPW Department changed that recently, completing a sidewalk project at Harbison’s Crossing.
A dangerous intersection on Maynardville Pike near Halls High School is now a lot safer for drivers and pedestrians. The folks at Knox County EPW are wrapping up a project that adds new traffic lights, crosswalks, and extended sidewalks at the busy Ledgerwood Road intersection.
Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs was in West Knoxville today, to help Knox County Parks & Rec and Knox County EPW cut the ribbon on the new NorthShore Greenway Boardwalk. The completion of the boardwalk is phase 3 of the overall Northshore Pedestrian Safety Improvements Project.
