More museum need to go back to old style displays for their collection's masterpieces.

They're so much more inspiring and better looking than these idle, lifeless poses. Have the armor mannequins hold weapons, raise a fist or something.

Compare!

Part of the reason my visit to Stibbert Museum was so wonderful is because it keeps the style of a 19th century collection.

To have the entire collection displayed like this is unrealistic for most museum's standards but man, try to replicate this for *SOME* of your stuff.

Don't get me wrong there are still museums that allow their collections to have *sauce* but it's rare and mostly reserved to mounted pieces.

And It's of course true that not all displays have the same goal in mind.

For example, 19th century style displays are not as good if you wanna be able to check each individual piece.

But I much prefer these displays that allow the average visitor to understand the movement armor is capable of and to better appreciate it's presence when worn by somebody.
