A day spent meeting and calling parents, developing belonging resources and supervising our Assistant EP around project work for belonging, transition and sensory processing #HappyMonday #ADayInTheLifeOfAnEP #SpecialSchool

We started some co-research today with pupils on transition. I was so proud of them for articulating themselves so beautifully related to their values and what matters to them. I feel incredibly grateful and privileged to do this work! #TwitterEPs #ADayInTheLifeOfAnEP

Another superb Karen Treisman visual that sums up so much in one image. I’m sure some parts resonate with some people more than others, but a good one for consideration. #twittereps

I had the pleasure of prepping with a teacher today for a restorative conference with a pupil with complex needs. A social story, ALD and symbol based contract to create in the meeting will hopefully promote understanding and make it meaningful #twitterEPs #ADayInTheLifeOfAnEP

Delivered training on the school ethos to new staff: relational approaches and belonging and why we don’t use punitive, compliance based approaches! I was so grateful to be preaching to the converted- they just got it completely! #TwitterEPs #ADayInTheLifeOfAnEP

Looking forward to presenting on Thursday. Come along and see my wonderful colleague and I if you’re interested in how to promote belonging at multiple levels in a school. Our presentation includes our use of photovoice methodology and WOWW #DECPOffical #TwitterEPs

Behavioural consequences assume that a child has control over their behaviour. But what’s underpinning their action? Lack of understanding? Limited self regulation skills? Poor self esteem? Shame? That’s why compliance based school approaches are so wrong! #TwitterEPs #HumanFirst

Facilitated a restorative meeting this week between a pupil with complex needs and a staff member! I worked closely with a staff member to prepare and personalise and was so proud of everyone! #twitterEPs #ADayInTheLifeOfAnEP

Since my diagnosis several years ago I have been rewriting my narrative of growing up. First with Thumbsucker and now with it's follow up which plots my teenage years and early adulthood. 1/
