It has been a week filled with teacher recruitment from Campbell University to HighPointUniversity to @unc_asheville. I have met so many outstanding future teachers across this great state, & they are filled with enthusiasm! So thankful for our current and future teachers in Asheville City Schools.

Spent Friday with school counselors, therapists, and social workers from all across Western North Carolina obtaining my Youth Mental Health First Aid certification. Essential learning for how to better serve our students.

Our five elementary schools participated in the yearly Battle of the Books challenge on Friday. Thank you 🙏 to John Pruett for being the moderator and Jones Media Center for hosting the 2023 event for Asheville City Schools. Outstanding display of sportsmanship by all schools.

My heart is full! I got to drive our middle & high @avlcityschools students to the Special Olympic Games @tcrobersonhigh. It was a day filled with races, fun activities in the Olympic Village, farm animal exhibit, & the best part was smiles, laughter and encouraging classmates.
