Two years after Jan 6, supporters of former Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro are sacking government buildings in the capital today. Steve Bannon is one of Bolsonaro’s closest advisors.

The man below is a famous presenter on Brazilian TV. He wonders if anyone has confused the wooden sticks of the Bolsonaro supporters with rifles. Countless Black men have been killed because their umbrella, walking stick or whatever were “confused” as rifles.

The invasion of Brazil’s Presidential Palace & Supreme Court by Bolsonaro’s supporters comes at no surprise. Unfortunately, Bolsonaro and his far-right fascist followers are not going anywhere without a fight.

Nearly 2 years to the day the US Capitol was attacked by fascists, we see fascist movements abroad attempt to do the same in Brazil. We must stand in solidarity with Lula’s democratically elected government. 🇧🇷 The US must cease granting refuge to Bolsonaro in Florida.

We support the democratic institutions that were viscously attacked by far-right nationalist Bolsonaro supporters yesterday. This was a white supremacist, interventionist, & explicitly fascist assault on the will of the people attested by fair & transparent elections. 📸 The New York Times
