Inside Kents Cavern Prehistoric Caves formed by water erosion 2.5 million years ago. The limestone itself is 400 million years old which was formed south of the equator at the bottom of a shallow tropical sea and was then pushed north. Each stalagmite grows 1cm every 500 years.
