Urgent: The teacher shortage crisis directly impacts student learning. With average starting pay at $38,000, we cannot recruit or retain high quality classroom teachers when other organizations and neighboring states offer $50,000 or more. It's time to acknowledge poverty-level

SB232 threatens to undo crucial educational support by removing the requirement for certified school librarians in KY schools. This will damage student reading achievement, limit information literacy, and hinder digital citizenship skills. No to SB232. #KyLibraries

Don’t be fooled- school vouchers don’t allow school choice for parents. Vouchers mean it’s actually the “school’s choice” which kids they want to accept and which kids they want to turn away.

Kentucky courts have consistently ruled that state tax dollars must remain in public schools. HB2 would overturn SEVEN sections of the constitution just to fund unaccountable private schools. This would devastate public education, and it would break our rural school districts.

KY House passes HB2, a bill to change our Constitution to allow vouchers and charters by creating an amendment that allows future legislation to disregard SEVEN sections of our Constitution. KY House Democrats #teacherlegislator

The attempts by the extreme KYGOP legislative majority to starve Kentucky’s public schools out of existence will never win. Our schools deserve more resources and support, not less. Governor Andy Beshear & Lt. Governor Jacqueline Coleman are 100% right! Public dollars are for public schools. #novouchers

As the saying goes, we are entitled to our own opinions, but not to our own facts. These are the facts about school vouchers- and just a few reasons we don't want them in Kentucky.

Public education is how we build a better Kentucky, but we can't get there if our school funding is given to private corporations. Public dollars are for public schools. Period.
