I just returned from South Sudan, a country that has had the most people arrive fleeing the brutal war.

In Renk today with Diana Janse, a South Sudan border town seeing more than a half million people flee Sudan in the last year.

Moved by stories from women, escaping violence with hopes for education & a future for their children. Thanks to 🇸🇪🇪🇺, we can respond to #SudanCrisis .

Despite challenges in South Sudan, we see opportunities for more business investment especially after discussions with entrepreneurs from the refugee, returnee & internally displaced community. Talent here needs an outlet and the economic potential is huge.

🤝 Grateful for the warm welcome back to South Sudan today. Meetings with VP Office of the Vice President: Gender & Youth S.S. & South Sudan Government ministers underscored importance of stability, resilience & solutions against backdrop of the Sudan war almost a year on. 🇸🇸 has received over 630k new arrivals.

Wishing all who celebrate, including those forced to flee around the world a blessed Eid filled with joy and moments of togetherness.

May this Eid bring us all closer to a future filled with peace, stability and happiness.
