Seems like if most people agree that: 1. AGI is this decade 2. Getting there first is crucial 3. This will require lots of energy 4. The gas turbine backlog now stretches til 2028 Then our energy policy needs to fill the gap – & that means not rug-pulling other energy sources.

"America Can Still Lose the AI Race" - my latest with Keegan McBride in RealClearDefense today. "America must work with its allies to forge new technological partnerships that reflect liberal and democratic values in order to counter and outcompete a formidable digital China," we argue.

Geographically, the US dominates with 75% of global AI supercomputer performance in our dataset. China is in second place with 15%, while Europe plays only a small role. (Our data only covers ~15% of global AI compute, so there’s some uncertainty.)

This is a model of brevity and directness. Punchy, readable chapters on narrowly defined issues with specific, actionable recommendations. I've read 10 chapters so far -- all reasonable. Great work.

There are two kinds of people: those who know Estonia is "the world's most digitally advanced society," and those who don't. But could the Estonian model work here? Or is it the pipe dream of over-eager technologists? We investigated w/ Joel Burke. statecraft.pub/p/how-to-digit…
