Peters told me he’s been talking about transmission with E&C Chair Guthrie, who Peters said “understands that transmission needs to be a part" of any deal. Evans told me they've talked about merging their plan with Nat Resources Chair Westerman's NEPA overhaul bill, the SPEED Act

Had a great time talking transmission policy with Daniel Palken. Dan isn’t just one of the leading transmission wonks - he’s a practitioner - having played a key role in negotiating grid policy included in the Energy Permitting Reform Act of 2024. Hope you all enjoy!

In this era of deep partisanship, Daniel Palken lives the idea that we should 1) be open to talking to anyone (even me when he was at Senate ENR) and 2) unite with anybody to do right (as Douglass said) Looking forward to listening to this

This comes from a pretty classic paper that I definitely recommend. One thing that’s interesting, though, is that the CWA has actually been quite unsuccessful compared to the Clean Air Act. 12 percent improvement is small fry compared to the CAA’s ~70% pollution reductions!
