A fantastic summary by Ruth Chambers of the Environment Act 2021 so far - well worth a read. At present, its provisions have not been implemented to the extent they could be. But with renewed momentum from the Government, and a review in November, there is hope!
It's with great sadness that we report the loss of Tony Duckett (Tony Duckett), who passed away at home in Norfolk on the 1st of August. Tony made a huge contribution to conservation with the Royal Parks and helped many Londoners develop an interest in nature.
I loved catching up with the one and only David DarrellLambert yesterday. My first visit to Walthamstow Wetlands in nearly five years! As always, he shared many useful bird ID tips, and his wealth of stories from birding around London. We also saw Common Terns, Little Egrets and Kingfishers!

Spent a lovely afternoon at London Zoo today. I particularly enjoyed seeing the Victoria Crowned Pigeons, Fischer's Turacos and Okapis, all of which captured my imagination as a small child!

Yesterday was my last day volunteering at London Wildlife Trust's Camley Street. So much has happened in the past year, from pollarding trees to nearly falling in a pond in front of 30 visitors! But above all, spending time with such wonderful and kind people made each week special.

Very, very sad to hear that Nicky Gavron has passed away. She transformed London's environmental and planning policy - a visionary and a great inspiration. We were both on the London Rewilding Taskforce until last year. I'll never forget her encouragement, energy and wisdom.
