Shout out to graduate student Natalie Jones for receiving a poster prize at the Rockefeller University Anderson Cancer Symposium last week! Looking forward to Natalie's thesis defense on Oct 5th!
We are excited to share our latest preprint on bioRxiv: biorxiv.org/content/10.110… Graduate student Jared Ramsey led this collaborative effort in which we identify covalent allosteric inhibitors for helicases, enzymes notoriously difficult to selectively target.
Reunion of Kapoor lab Kapoor Lab alumni Shih-Chieh (Jeff) Ti X David Li Lab and collaborator Mu He for hotpot in Hong Kong😁
👀 Preview of Nguyen et al: Fine-tuning chemical genetics to identify physiologic drug targets by Lauren Vostal and Tarun M. Kapoor at Rockefeller University TPCB dlvr.it/Syyxx7
Excited to see work from Michal Wieczorek 's lab out on bioRxiv. Congratulations to Michal and his colleagues!
The lab went bowling as a farewell to graduate student Natalie Jones! In January, Natalie will be starting her postdoc in Leemor Joshua-Tor's lab Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. Best of luck Natalie, we know you'll throw a strike!
The annual American Society for Cell Biology #cellbio2023 meeting calls for a lab reunion! It was great to see many former lab members at the meeting, where we caught up for a fun dinner! Scott Forth Kuo-Chiang Hsia Rudolf Pisa Shih-Chieh (Jeff) Ti Zhen Chen
Super excited to see my most recent work (and first paper!) from the Kapoor Lab online J. Am. Chem. Soc.! By taking advantage of electrophilic 'scout fragments', we identify allosteric inhibitors of helicases, enzymes that have been challenging to target. pubs.acs.org/doi/epdf/10.10…
Congratulations to twitterless Amol Aher and the Kapoor lab team Kapoor Lab at Rockefeller University on their paper! nature.com/articles/s4159… And a beautiful cover too!! The scoop on γTuRC. Cover shared by studies by Aher et al. and Dendooven et al in the same issue.
Vostal et al Kapoor Lab Rockefeller University report two structures of complexes formed by VCP, an unfoldase, & VCPIP1, a deubiquitinase, & suggest that VCPIP1 is poised to cleave #ubiquitin from protein substrates that translocate through VCP’s central pore hubs.la/Q03bV3G00
Structural insights into the coupling between VCP, an essential unfoldase, and a deubiquitinase. New study from Lauren Vostal, Tarun Kapoor Kapoor Lab and colleagues Rockefeller University: hubs.la/Q03bVk850 #StructuralBiology #Biochemistry #ProteinHomeostasis #CryoEM
