The B.C. government has introduced legislation that it says will put in place 20-metre access zones around schools to protect students from disruptive behaviour, including aggressive protests.

NEW: As of today, British Columbia, Canada becomes the first province/state in North America to allow mass timber buildings (aka “engineered wood”) up to 18 storeys in the building code without special processes (the previous code allowed 12 storeys). Hopefully this spreads fast.

We are implementing a series of improvements to the SAFER program so more seniors will be eligible for rental assistance, and that assistance is being increased. Recipients will receive the one-time benefit with their regular RAP or SAFER payment in April 2024.
