Summer Learning Bernheim Middle: creating hydroponic systems! Students will consider how to be innovative problem solvers when they meet the Shepherdsville GM of Square Roots Indoor Farms to learn how they use farming technology to provide fresh food to communities like ours year round.
Today was one of the best days in my professional career. I was fortunate enough to be invited by Dr. Jim Van Allan- Energy Bus for Schools to share our school’s story and how EnergyBusSchools has played a part in creating a more positive culture for mt. washington ms.
I also got to meet and hear Jon Gordon in person which was surreal as his work has had a huge influence on my beliefs on leadership.
Attending NEH Education The Most Southern Place on Earth seminar in the Mississippi Delta. We met Rev. Wheeler Parker Jr, the cousin of Emmett Till who was with him the day he died. Rev. Parker gave me his number and said he’d love to connect with our students. Incredible!

I hung out today with Bernheim Middle students who were utilizing some of their new space. I’m so excited about how this renovation project is progressing. Students were plotting coordinates as air traffic controllers making sure planes didn’t crash into each other.
