i hate pre-season and it means nothing, but this route is foul. what type of breakpoint is this? hit em with a one step, don’t dance

malachi toney thoughts: tbh i think it speaks more to the rest of the receiver room; they don’t have anyone else. a lot of it came off of one concept (mesh) and then an inverted version of it where the receivers running drags run whips instead to fake mesh. not high level stuff

These types of plays were littered throughout his college tape. Poor hand technique and timing, he just got away with it in college.

Definitely feels like DBs are really putting in work throughout the week to defend Jeremiah Smith jump balls. He’s still getting them, but these Big10 DBs know what they’re doing this year.

Been watching Carnell Tate. This was my eval last Spring in the Campus2Canton devy guide. I feel confident in saying these aren't concerns anymore. He's become an elite man beater with excellent body control along the sideline. The YAC has improved, he's in contention for WR1

Watching Jordyn Tyson (he’s in the slot). Facing horizontal bracketed coverage running a deep post as a clear out route. A lot of receivers would take this play off, but Tyson has a nice rocker step with violent body gestures and actually gets open

watching makai lemon. love his blocking. not many receivers are running halfway across the field to pick up a block, needs to finish some of them better, but i love that effort. that’s the type of stuff that makes coaches fall in love with you

Watching Germie Bernard (slot). He sells inside but Ellis Robinson jams him and then bails. Bernard’s breakpoint is smooth and creates separation but it’s too late, the QB already moved on. Bernard needs to win earlier in the route.

i don’t have the clip and would have to search through film to find it but very clearly remember Pearsall running this ‘deep whip’ at Florida. Shanahan didn’t ’invent’ or ‘adjust’ this blaze out to Pearsall. he saw Pearsall run it and got him
