Today’s data shows the Government is failing to meet its ambulance response times and handover targets. Average waits for emergencies like stroke are getting worse. For stroke time is brain. thesun.co.uk/news/29120511/…

Mechanical thrombectomy can dramatically improve outcomes and reduce disability. It was great to hear about the progress being made in Nottingham to ensure people have timely access to this vital treatment, regardless of where their stroke occurs. David Hargroves πŸ’™ Maeva May

However, we were disappointed to see no mention of a Clean Air Bill in the #KingsSpeech. Air pollution is predicted to contribute to over 100,000 strokes by 2035, so we will continue to work with @HealthAirUK to see that this is prioritised.

We also heard in the #KingsSpeech that the Government will tackle NHS performance & reduce waiting times. Ambulance wait times & handover delays have affected stroke care for years. We want Ara's report to provide the NHS with a lifeline to improve emergency stroke care.
