Is biology predictable? This is a hard problem, relevant across scales, from conservation to the human microbiome. Our big story on the importance of "stripy" T cells in antigen response, which started as a MSc Thesis 6 years ago, has finally made its way out in Science Magazine! 🤩 Massive congrats to Ben Hale & thanks to all collaborators particularly Oxenius Lab & Blutspende SRK Schweiz 🥰

Today in Science Magazine, we report how a bacteria has evolved into a major human pathogen over the last 200 years. Read on, this is going to be an adventurous ride 1/n! science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…

Super excited to announce that I obtained an Swiss National Science Foundation Ambizione grant to start as a junior group leader at IMSB_ETH at ETH Zürich! 🥳 We will study transcription regulatory networks in bacterial pathogens 🧬 Will soon advertise positions for a PhD student and Master projects!

I'm hiring another postdoc for my starting lab at VIB-KU Leuven Center for Microbiology to study microbial carbon fixation! We'll be deriving how enzymes in marine microbes inadvertently form stable molecules that are sequestered long term in the ocean. jobs.vib.be/j/93444/postdo…

We are very excited to share new recent research from our lab! This has been a long-time effort, involving several fantastic group members and collaborators (Pedro Beltrao and @Jürgen) with Laurentz Schuhknecht on the driving sit.
