Sen. Mitchell was just the 34th and deciding vote to block an attempt to keep her from voting while the ethics complaint against her is being discussed by the ethics committee.

Democrats just blocked our motion that any member who commits a statutorily-defined “crime of violence” (burglary included) cannot vote until the ethics committee has completed their investigation. They made it clear they only care about power. Hold. Them. Accountable.

A mockery is being made of the State Senate, Minnesota State government, the people we serve, and the oath every sitting member has taken to uphold the state Constitution and our laws. This is not a time for smiles and hugs - it’s a time for accountability. End the absurdity.

Just witnessed Mitchell ignore press and run out of the chamber. Whose office is she hiding in, and why are they allowing her space to hide from the scrutiny of the press?

Senate Democrat leadership taking proactive steps to make it easier for their embattled Senator facing felony charges to participate in floor session and avoid scrutiny from the press.

Couldn’t help but notice while giving a floor tour that they moved Nicole Mitchell to the opposite side of the chamber away from the side the press sits on. Replaced her seat with Dziedzic. Stop protecting her. Make her answer for her actions.

I heard they’ll consider it if all who voted in favor commit to never using the products or services of those companies (etc.) again………..or plan on applying for a job there post graduation. How about a serious & constructive dialogue about ending violence against all, period.

Imagine a teacher who is under investigation for potentially violating school policies. While the investigation is ongoing, this teacher is removed from participating in faculty meetings and planning sessions but is still allowed to teach and grade students.

Seems wrong to me.

Honor is in short supply - it's being replaced with unabashed self-serving egotism. Unfortunately it exists in both parties. When your questionable actions become a distraction or taint the work of the people, it’s time to stop being selfish, respect the institution, & step aside

So let me understand - we need to remove her from her caucus and committee assignments while we investigate what happened - but she can be the deciding vote on massive pieces of legislation that will impact the entire state? They have no shame, no honor, no principles.

Gov. Walz is right - elected officials need to be held to a higher standard.

While Sen. Mitchell is entitled to due process for her legal case, she cannot be allowed to damage the institution by being the 34th vote for partisan bills while facing felony charges.

If the concern is getting “complete information” and “actual evidence” out, there is one person with the power to release the body cam footage: Senator Mitchell.

I wouldn’t wish the grief she must be experiencing on anyone. I hope she finds healing, help, and peace. However, these actions are unbecoming of someone elected to office. It is time to resign and focus on herself and her family.

Chag Sameach! Passover is a time of reflection, remembrance, & renewal. This celebration of freedom resonates with values that are deeply rooted in all of us. I am praying for peace in Israel and for the safe return of the remaining hostages.
