Just want to thank Flight of the Dragonfly - Spoken Word, e-Journal and John McCullough 🏳️‍🌈 for last night's gig. The venue was more full than I have ever seen it. Thank you too to every single Open Miccer who came and made the evening a fitting tribute to 5 years of Flight of the Dragonflies <3

RIP to the legendary drag queen and cabaret performer Jason Sutton, a.k.a. Miss Jason. We first met to discuss the wigs and dresses needed for the character I'd written for him in my musical The Seven Doors of Danny, the gangster Tequila Heels. A very witty, kind and caring soul.

Hey hey it’s Shakespeare day! Spotted this in Stratford-upon-Avon after my PhD on Will and Renaissance friendship. “To bathe in fiery floods, or to reside / In thrilling region of thick-ribbed ice… Oh actually, come to think of it, I could really do with a Mr Whippy right now.”

Three of my favourite poetry books I’ve read this month. Long been a fan of Howe and Hirshfield. Modern Poetry (the follow up to frank: sonnets) by Diane Seuss is a fantastic exploration of the impact of having a working-class upbringing. Really chimed with my own experiences.

Looking forward to teaching this intensive online poetry course with Fran Lock for four weeks in May. I'll be focussing especially on editing strategies to take your poems to the next level. Each student receives 4 x 30 minute tutorials on top of the 8 classes.

She performed in Lancashire in the mid-1700s.
