As battery #ElectricVehicles sales in Norway reached 82% market share last year, it's remarkable how predictive this simple model ended up being.

A manual reading at Achfary, a site in northwest Scotland, has come in today with a temperature of 19.9 °C on Sunday, provisionally setting a new UK maximum temperature record for January This exceeds the automated reading of 19.6 °C reported yesterday at Kinlochewe

Absurdly warm in Central & North America. Many places recording their warmest February temperatures on record in the last few days... Colder air racing in from the north now though reminding us that it is indeed still February...

As El Nino gives way to La Nina, we're seeing a drop-off in global sea surface temperatures (as some of us said would happen). The problem was never about one or two years--it's about the TREND. Planet will continue to warm until carbon emissions reach zero. Truth is bad enough!

IPCC climate model projections compared against latest (Berkeley Earth) global temperature observations (via @Hausfath). We're seeing the predicted steady warming. The warming will continue as long as carbon emissions continue. That's entirely up to us. #UrgencyAndAgency

The ship has largely sailed on limiting warming to 1.5C at this point, barring us getting very lucky with low climate sensitivity or actively geoengineering the climate. But there still are viable paths to limit warming to below 2C this century, as shown in the figure below:

How much of global warming is human-caused? MORE THAN 100% That’s right: according to natural factors, including the sun and natural cycles, the Earth should be slowly, gradually cooling right now. Instead, it’s warming. m.youtube.com/watch?v=k5_zpj…

A molten salt photothermal power station enters operation in Qinghai, China 🇨🇳. These are more expensive to build than a typical solar farm but generate electricity 24 hours each day.
